On Monday, April 21st, 2014, the Small Business Administration, AARP, and the Georgia Small Business Development Center held a workshop on Exploring Entrepreneurship. Participants interested in business ownership were taken through a series of fundamental questions and assessments to determine if they are positioned to launch a business. Lessons on how to build a business plan and why businesses fail were presented as well.
Speakers for the panel discussion were Susan Richards, Founder and CEO of SteelBridge Solutions, Inc., an HR consulting organization, and Shirley Murphy, Founder and Owner of Shirley’s Helping Hands, an Alzheimer healthcare service business. Both speakers credit The Edge Connection program for assisting them in starting their minority and woman-owned businesses.
